Man flips his jeep near Longhorn restaurant in Sarasota Saturday. There were so many emergency calls it took over 15 minutes for emergency crews to respond.

No it isn't a traffic accident. Some artist put this together as an art from near the Sarasota bay front.  Do you have to be an artist to appreciate this?

 


We just caught this magnificent photo of Mt. Rainer on our cross country tour. The mountain is over 14,000 feet just outside of Tacoma, Washington. We have our own chill factor as temps drop to 60 at night:)

 


A local Kiwanis Club installs new officers. It's a far cry from a decade or so ago when no women were allowed to join the men's club.

 

A 71 year old woman "sleep drives" her car into 3 trees before coming to a stop at 5:30 AM in the morning. Had the trees not been there she would have landed into a creek. A neighbor across the street rescued her. The ladies husband said she just got up out of bed and drove off in the car making it only 3 blocks before she crashed.

 

 

"Going to the Chapel.....and we're going to get married."  And so it went but the Chapel was Siesta Key beach. She looks happy he looks a little nervous. So what's new:)

 

The sun breaks through the clouds before it hits the horizon. This shot was before all the brilliant pinks and reds shone through.

 

 


It's time to get off your duff and go catch a fall sunset at the beach. We caught this one last week at Siesta Key.

 


A lost art form of hanging clothes to dry may never make a comeback. Maybe 1 in 100 in Sarasota still hang their clothes to dry.

 


Local  man, Dan Strzempka, has been featured on a series by NBC covering the first Dolphin full tail replacement in the world with a prosthetic tail he constructed. Dan, on the left, grew up and lives in Sarasota.

 


OMG another day you woke up
to 80 degree temps this morning. This cat found a place in the shade on a garage roof.

 

 


Thank goodness the lights at Philippi Creek were on the blink so motorists wouldn't have to stop for one car trying to get out:)

If you are on a diet try Slim's pork barbeque sandwich. It's slim  and typically smaller then your average restaurant sandwich. Slim's is  located in  Arcadia.

 


Winds kick up the surf at Turtle Beach on Sunday. Temperatures are expected to fall later today.

 

 


Gridlock on U.S. 41 in Sarasota made it nearly impossible for this fire department ambulance to make it to Sarasota Memorial Hospital with a patient Wednesday afternoon. Drivers tried to pull to the side to let the ambulance make it through the middle lane.


Sarasota woman is the last holdout in selling her condo to Quay developer and gets 4x's the amount others got, over one million dollars.

Arcadia is going through major housing renovations especially after Hurricane Charlie ravaged through the town. This home is from 1892 and houses a commune type style group of people that do tree work.

 


Car windows freeze over with below freezing temperatures in Sarasota this morning. Highs are expected in the low 60's

Tony Dungy and his Colts endured the rain, injuries and an opening full field touchdown by Chicago to win the 2007 Super Bowl.

 

 


We found military surplus  tents that Sarasota County can use to house criminals. It's a 1,000 sq. ft. tent for only $1795. That comes to only $1.80 a sq ft. You can't build a jail for that:) Jails don't rehabilitate, maybe communing with nature and mosquitoes will work:) Hey, if it works in Arizona why not here.

 

 

 

 


The new AMC theatre's at Sarasota Mall are bigger than life itself.

When was the last time we had humidity as low as 34%. That's what it hit yesterday, an excellent day to dry your clothes outside. And when was the last time you hung your clothes to dry? Think green:)


Oil dropped to a two year low this week. Some say the drop in price is due to lower demand for heating oil. However,  investors have taken their money off the table for oil futures which we believe is the more plausible reason for the  decline in prices. 1-07
