One and a half million for an airport director.....with no planes. That is how much the Sarasota Bradenton Airport Authority is going to pay Fred Piccolo for the next five years. The airport is practically vacant and has been running downhill under his reign. Their reasoning....they wanted to keep him. Piccolo is a smart man to convince the board they shouldn't lose him. It could only happen in Sarasota which has one of the most apathetic voice in the nation. (Elected positions go un-contested). The retired folk are too lazy to get involved and the younger population is too busy keeping their heads above water with the high cost of living. Laurel what do you think of that? I think we should vote in a new airport board and fire Piccolo.
