Surveys suggest that between 40 percent and 60 percent of all visits to the Internet involve a search for health information. A Kaiser Family Foundation survey released this week found that 68 percent of people aged 15 to 24 have found health information online.

A Harris Interactive survey of more than 700 Web users showed that 50 percent had looked for health information on the Internet in the past six months. It found 78 percent wanted a seal of approval of some kind on Web sites.
