Regional Premiere of Five Sisters Productions’

“Manna from Heaven” at Sarasota Film Festival

WHAT:     The Regional Premiere of Five Sisters Productions’ “Manna from Heaven” at the Sarasota Film Festival in Sarasota, Florida.

The script was written by the award-winning author Gabrielle B. Burton, also mother of the five sisters (Charity, Gabrielle, Jennifer, Maria and Ursula) who collectively directed and produced the feature film.

“Manna from Heaven” depicts what happens when you get a gift from God, only to find out many years later that it was just a loan.  The film starts long ago with a working-class neighborhood in Buffalo, NY, being mysteriously showered with twenty-dollar bills.  Many years later, Theresa, now a nun, has an epiphany that it is time to pay the money back, so she calls the eccentric group back together to repay the “loan.”  Along the way, the characters learn about family, romance, reconciliation and redemption by overcoming the personal obstacles that have been holding them back in life.

WHO:     Academy Award winner and cast member Shirley Jones, three of the five Burton sisters, and their parents (writer and producer) will be in attendance.

“Manna from Heaven” is a comedic fable with a stellar ensemble cast, including  Academy Award winner Shirley Jones (“Elmer Gantry,” “The Partridge Family”), Academy Award winner Cloris Leachman (“The Last Picture Show,” “Music of the Heart”), Academy Award winner Louise Fletcher (“One Flew Over The Cuckoo’s Nest,” “A Map of the World”), Ursula Burton (“Death of a Saleswoman, “Sgt. Bilko”), Seymour Cassel (“Rushmore,” “Cannes Man”), Shelley Duvall (“3 Women”, “Portrait of a Lady”), Jill Eikenberry (“L.A. Law,” “The Manhattan Project”), Frank Gorshin (“Luck of the Draw,” “12 Monkeys”), Faye Grant (“Drive Me Crazy,” “Internal Affairs”), three-time Tony nominee Harry Groener (“Dance With Me,” “Patch Adams,” “Amistad”), Wendie Malick (“Just Shoot Me,” “The Emperor’s New Groove”), and Austin Pendleton (“Fast Food, Fast Women,” “Joe the King”).

WHEN:
January 24th: Shirley Jones (actor) in person. Also available for telephone interviews.
January 19 - 27: Gabrielle C. Burton (director, producer), Maria Burton (director, producer, actor), Ursula Burton (actor, producer), Gabrielle B. Burton (writer -- and mother), Roger Burton (producer -- and father) in person.
